Riviera: The Promised Land is not exactly the most orthodox strategy RPG, but as ZombiePie point out, it might be the best entry point into developer Sting's experimental phase.

As we countdown to the end of Summer, ZombiePie is starting a new blog feature in which they look at the most notable and weird RPGs from Japanese developer, Sting. This week they checked out Baroque, a game with a major and vocal cult following in an attempt to discern fact from fiction about the game.

Gaming has seen a growing influx of joke games that last about three to five hours and are oriented around one joke or premise. How should we approach those games? That question is at the heart of ZombiePie's latest article.
