Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight, I am your host as always. To put it bluntly we had a lot of stuff happen this week. Firstly Dan Ryckert and Jason Oestreicher were revealed to be the new hires for Giant Bomb...something I may have accidentally played a role in. Please if you haven't done so already wish both Dan and Jason a hearty welcome over here. Now, some of you were disappointed with this announcement, and others defended the staff's choice. Between this all horrible stuff was directed towards people on this site and Twitter, and this is beyond unacceptable. Jeff has written a letter on why this is decidedly un-cool. As Jeff states in his letter we are re-examining the current Forum Rules to follow for the staff and moderation team to better handle situations like this. Please however realize that Giant Bomb will always be a place for civil and productive discussions and debates. This week also marks the one year anniversary of Ryan's passing. Patrick has written an incredibly powerful piece on why July 3rd is such an emotional day for him. As with last year feel free to name your favorite Ryan Davis moments here, and learn how you can get tested for Sleep Apnea. This week also saw the Giant Bomb community raising over $6,300 for SGDQ 2014! Also I have now re-named the old GiantBombSquad twitter account to the "GB Duders Feed" to provide a better name as to what the account is about and that it is also completely unofficial. The old GiantBombSquad account has now converted to the "Giant Bomb Mod Squad," it it will keep you updated on policy changes and moderator related news. Also if you are unable to log into your account feel free to DM that account. Now with that housekeeping aside let's get on with the Community Spotlight!

Clips of the Week

We have a bunch of videos this week! Two come from @turboman. The first video compiles the best Ryan Davis moments, and the second shows what happens when Speed Runners and Giant Bomb meet. @theburlaplemur has a new edition of his Bitesize Bomb, and this episode features the start of Jeff's obsession with Game Room as well as some of Brad's best cameos during Quick Looks. Cranzor on the other hand has created a video tribute to all of Giant Bomb, and Ryan especially.

To mark the one year passing of Ryan, Mezmero looks back on where he was on July 3rd. CharlesAlanRatliff on the other hand straight up sat on a cake in honor of Ryan. Finally thatpinguino discusses how Ryan's passing and the ending to Final Fantasy X impacted him emotionally. thatpinguino also has a new edition to his Final Fantasy 8 video series, and this episode examines the secrets in the game. Mento looks back on all of the games he bought during the GOG and Steam sales. Khessed did an "Amateur Bombastica" for The Quest of Rings for the Odyssey 2. Video_Game_King experienced the horrors of war and joys of slicing things up this week, whereas GrantHeaslip blew through a bunch of games on his Summer backlog. A new month means that BlackLagoon has another edition of his monthly Vita release blogs. CottoneUD is still plugging along in Persona 4 Golden with William Rikeru, and FakeKisser returns to blogging on Giant Bombwith a weekly update on the game he played. ArbitraryWater struck Metal Gear 4 from his gaming backlog, and Hailinel got retro by visiting the Seattle Retro gaming Expo. Bobafettajm is still doing great work on the Giant Bomb wiki and Wess has done the unthinkable...he has caught every Pokemon in Pokemon X/Y.

As the 3rd marks the one year anniversary of Ryan's passing we have plenty of threads memorializing the man, the myth, and the legend. The first asks you to post pictures of yourself raising a glass to Ryan. Next we have Cranzor's video tribute to Ryan and the site in general, and finally give Gakon's Taswell Ipsum a shot. If you have been following Dan and Jason before they joined Giant Bomb share what are your favorite videos of theirs. Rorie has been working around the clock to make sure that the jerk posters on the site have been dealt with, so share some cute dog pictures or video to him as a sign of your appreciation. TruthTellah has systematically listed out links to every single archive to Summer Games Done Quick 2014. Feel free to discuss the new Divinity game, Shovel Knights, or what you think is the best format for Giant Bomb livestreams.
