Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! It is my pleasure to once again be your host. As many of you may have noticed, last week was the first time in my four year term that a new edition of the Community Spotlight was not published by myself, and the reasons for which I have already gone over.I hope and plan that I will no longer miss any future editions of the Spotlight. However, as you will see this week my medical leave has left this edition sparse in comparison to what I normally publish. So please bear with me as I try to re-establish my bearings. I promise things will get better from this point forward.

In terms of housekeeping you may have noticed that the Giant Bomb interface has gotten a bit of a facelift. Feel free to discuss and share your input on the new header update over here, and also share any bugs that you have found. Finally THANK YOU to everyone who donated and participated in Giant Bomb's Extra Life event and fundraiser! You all did great work last week!

Everyone...we are almost there. The Winter game boom is just around the corner. That said this week was no slouch with the oft delayed Dreamfalls Chapter releasing its first chapter, and the much anticipated Xbox One release of Sunset Overdrive.

Best of Blogs

Mento has finished his Octurbo blog series with Dead of the Brain 1 & 2 for the TurboGrafx-CD, similarly meatsofevil finishes his long running Persona 3 blog series for Extra Life this week. Takashichea mixes anime with video games with his latest blog, and SgtSphynx decided to play up "Shocktober" by looking at a handful of Lovecraftian inspired video games. thatpinguino is still chugging along with Final Fantasy VIII and this week discusses what his speed running strategies are for the game. hunkadunkasaurus is an avid pog collector and shares his really awesome, and complete, Star Trek: The Next Generation pog set. With the game now on GOG kevin_cogneto has a highly educationa blog on how he was able to McGuyver TIE Fighter to detect a 360 controller. Ford_Dent and FCDrandy both share their recent forays into Persona 4, and thatthereitalian expresses why he has really enjoyed his time with Beyond Earth. Finally bobafettjm has another great update on his awesome work on the Giant Bomb wiki.

Fantastic Forums

If you have not yet checked out the official .gif, screencap, and image thread for ExtraLife then you need to correct that. Our image thread for the event is an endless supply of delights. Can you also think of the games with the worst hardcore modes, or even the games with the best soundtracks this year? Lovable Lists

Resident, Resident Evil expert Yummylee has finally sat down and annotated all of the games from the series that he has played from best to worst. He is joined by Sleepinglesson who has done the same thing, but with the Legend of Zelda franchise, and finally FCDandy has created a top ten list of his all time favorite games.
