Bottles, the short-sighted mole, is one of the main characters from the Banjo-Kazooie series. He wears large, cokebottle glasses to compensate for his poor eyesight due to living a life primarily below ground. His role is primarily assisting the player and teaching Banjo and Kazooie new moves.

Banjo-Kazooie
Bottles debut was made hand-in-hand with the franchise itself in the original Banjo-Kazooie. Kazooie was constantly insulting him throughout the game, usually with regard to his short stature and geeky appearance. Bottles appeared in essentially every level of the game to provide his customary advice and teach crucial moves required to navigate and overcome that particular locale. Furthermore, when approaching a molehill, Bottles will automatically refill the player's health. An interesting note about Kazooie's insults for Bottles in Banjo-Kazooie is that most of them end up becoming names for other mole characters in the later games of the series. These insults include Speccy, Geeky (Bottles' children in Banjo-Tooie), Bozzeye (Bottles' grandfather in Grunty's Revenge) and Jam Jars (to become Jamjarsin Banjo-Tooie).

Banjo-Tooie
In Banjo-Tooie, Bottles is killed by Gruntildain the opening cinematic, having miscast a spell meant for Banjo and Kazooie. This becomes the driving force for the pair, seeking revenge and avenging his death. His brother, Jamjars, reprises his role for the duration. At the conclusion of the game, he is revived. A dropped mode found in the game's code called Bottles' Revenge would have seen Bottles change from Angel Bottles to Devil Bottles at the start of the game, then allow a second player to control baddies to make the player's game harder.
Handhelds
Bottles was not included in the Grunty's Revenge, only mentioned in passing, as the game revolves entirely around time travel, which theoretically, he couldn't guide the player through. Instead, one of his ancestors, Bozzeye (Character), undertakes these duties. A return was made, however, in plane-flying racer Banjo-Pilot, where he is made available as a playable character.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Bottles will be returning in a teaching capacity in Nuts andamp;amp; Bolts. Having become a tourist information officer since the previous game, he now wears his jacket buttoned up, along with a bright yellow tie and nametag. His wife and children have also left him, unable to deal with the stress of him being killed and brought back to life again, so he has since been drowning his troubles away at Jolly Roger's pub.
