Gruntilda
Gruntilda is a witch whose one act of profitable villainy has turned into an obsession with restoring herself and defeating Banjo. She often speaks in rhymes and favors a combination of magic, machinery and minion power in battle.

Banjo-Kazooie
Debuting in Banjo-Kazooie for the Nintendo 64 (Platform), Gruntilda was shockingly reminded by her cauldron Dingpot that she was not the most beautiful damsel in the game. The title in fact belonged to Banjo's sister, Tooty (Character). Outraged by the fact, Gruntilda rides her flying broomstick and captures Tooty. Her overall goal is to use a beauty-transfer machine to steal Tooty's beauty (which she manages to do in the game's Game Over (Concept) screen.) Gruntilda hides deep within her protected lair, taunting the player with rhymes as they progress.
Upon confronting Gruntilda atop her lair, Banjo and Kazooie awaken the mighty Jinjonator. After a barrage of magic attacks, Gruntilda is forced off the tower and sent tumbling to her temporary grave.
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge:
Two months after the events of Banjo-Kazooie, Klungo channels Gruntilda's soul into a mechanical body. Capturing Kazooie in an attempt to change history and prevent bear and bird from ever meeting, she is eventually defeated by the duo - leaving her body and soul trapped beneath the boulder she was buried under after Banjo-Kazooie.
Banjo-Tooie:
Two years after the beginning of Banjo-Kazooie (and 22 months after Grunty's Revenge), Grunty's sisters, Mingella (Character) and Blobbelda (Character), destroy the boulder Gruntilda was sealed beneath. Emerging as a decrepit skeleton, Gruntilda uses the B.O.B. cannon to steal the life force of Characters/Bottlesthe Jinjo ruler, King Jingaling. (Oh, and Bottles (Character) too.) Upon reaching the final battle, Gruntilda pilots the HAG1 drilling machine but is quickly defeated once again after her magic spell is redirected into the machine. The HAG1 explodes, reducing Gruntilda to a skull which is comically used as a kickball by the protagonists.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts:
In Banjo and Kazooie's most recent adventure, a conflict between the duo and a body-less Gruntilda leads to an appearance by the Lord of Games (Character) to settle things once and for all. With a new mechanical-body and companion to boot, she is promised ownership of Spiral Mountain if she can defeat the duo in a series of vehicle-based challenges. Unsuccessful, Gruntilda is sentenced to work in LOG's video-game factory for all of eternity. Inside the factory, she plans to "make her own devious game." It is possible this "devious game" is Kinect Sports, as its lack of appeal with Rare fans may ensure Banjo and Kazooie never get a starring role again.
