Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas is a spin-off from the original Rainbow Six franchise. The franchise follows Rainbow Six trying to prevent terrorist from leveling the city of Las Vegas.


The Rainbow Six Vegas franchise is a series of first person shooters. They put emphasis on squad commands and the concept of taking cover and firing from behind the cover at enemies rather than running and gunning.

Rainbow Six Vegas was released on November 21, 2006, and has sold over 1.7 million copies so far. The game won numerous award, mostly for 'Best FPS'. The game was praised for its story and environments, taking the player from desert levels to high roller casinos. The multiplayer mode won multiple 'Best Online' for its experience system and many customization options.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was released on March 18, 2008. Whilst the game was well received (it currently has an 81 average on Metacritic) the sequel has been criticised for its stark similarities to the first game.

The game was expanded with options to control your squadmates, adding options to have them throw grenades or behave different in certain surroundings. The online multiplayer was also upgraded, with a lot of items from the first game, and new game modes.
