Cheato is an aptly named spellbook. Originally the property of Gruntilda, he helps Banjo and Kazooie on their quest by giving them cheats.

Cheato is a magical spellbook from the Banjo-Kazooie franchise. Originally appearing in the first Banjo-Kazooie game for the Nintendo 64 (Platform), he grants Banjo (Character) and Kazooie (Character) special cheats when they find him hidden throughout Gruntilda's Lair. In Banjo-Tooie, Cheato had his spellbook pages ripped out by Gruntilda (Character), and by returning 5 spellbook pages to him, Banjo and Kazooie can unlock new cheats to use. Cheato had a similar role in the GBA title Banjo-Pilot, where Cheato pages can be earned during races to unlock cheats. In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts andamp;amp;amp; Bolts, a ramp appearing in the level Banjo-Land also had the appearance of Cheato.
