Disney's Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers, known in Europe as Disney's Donald Duck: Quack Attack, is a comedic third-person platformer developed by multiple Ubi Soft studios and published by both Ubi Soft Entertainment and Disney Interactive (Company) for the PlayStation 2 (Platform), Dreamcast (Platform), PlayStation (Platform), Nintendo 64 (Platform), and PC (Platform) on October-December 2000, with a GameCube (Platform) release later on March 2002. The PS2 received a Japanese release on March 8, 2001 as Donald Duck: Rescue Daisakusen!!
A collaboration between Ubisoft and Disney Interactive, Goin' Quackers follows the volatile Donald Duck (Character) as he sets out to rescue his beloved Daisy Duck (Character) from the evil magician Merlock. As the game is dedicated to the memory of Disney (Franchise) comic book artist Carl Barks, several characters of his also make an appearance, including genius inventor Gyro Gearloose (Character), Donald's nephews Huey, Louie, and Dewey (Character), Donald's cousin and rival Gladstone Gander, bumbling thieves The Beagle Boys, and the diabolical witch Magica De Spell (Character).
The game is known for its strong gameplay similarities with early games in the Crash Bandicoot (Franchise) series, as well as Donald's two-HP mood system, where getting hit in his normal, carefree state causes him to become angry (gaining temporary invincibility by going berserk). It is also known for its three separate versions, each with their own differences (with Ubisoft Montreal handling the PS2 and GameCube versions, Ubisoft Casablanca (Company) handling the Dreamcast, N64, and PC versions, and Ubisoft Shanghai handling the PS1 version). The Ubisoft Montreal version features a completely different assortment of levels and new gameplay mechanics.
It also received handheld adaptations, one for the Game Boy Color (Platform) (by Ubisoft Milan, released on October 2000, known in-game as Disney's Donald Duck) and one for the Game Boy Advance (Platform) (by Ubisoft Shanghai, released on November 2001 as Disney's Donald Duck Advance). Both of them are traditional side-scrolling platformers. Both versions received Japanese releases, with the GBC version on December 1, 2000 as Disney's Donald Duck: Daisy o Sukue! and the GBA version on December 21, 2001.
