As a child, I was always excited when my grandmother got me a surprise game. Maybe an extra treat in my Easter basket. I remember St. Nick leaving me a copy of Revenge of Shinobi in my boot, for example. She helped me score a copy of Xenogears. We called store after store, and one day she found it!
As I reflect upon my youth, I realize she fuckin' rocked, and I could add more to that list above. However, the ever looming threat of The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants upon this website always makes me recall: This game showed up one day!
Her track record was pretty good, truthfully! I could never complain, but I always wondered where the games came from, especially the stinkers.

Were they discovered at a random garage sale? I imagine a kid, defeated, price labeling his games , sticking to baseball, and never touching video games again.
Perhaps she stopped at FuncoLand, and the young man working the floor wanted to ruin a child's day. The type of person who would sell Space Mutants to another human being is someone who kicks dogs and throws batteries into lakes.
I'll never know their true origin, but I'll always be grateful! My grandmother always taught me to appreciate the arts, and I think she helped expand my palate of games throughout my life. That taught me to expand it further, as you cannot appreciate the light without the blight.

This is a bad puzzle/platformer game with terrible controls. Half star for the Simpsons references in the first level.
