Jason Griffith was the official voice actor of Sonic the Hedgehog (Character), Shadow the Hedgehogand Jet the Hawk (Character), making his video game debut with Shadow the Hedgehogin 2005 right up to Sonic andamp;amp;amp; Sega All-Stars Racingin 2010. He succeeded Ryan Drummond (Person) and David Humphrey (Person), as part of Sega's deal with 4Kids to replace all previous voice actors with those from the Sonic X anime series (where Griffith voiced both Sonic and Shadow). This caused a fair amount of upset among fans who believed the previous actors were better. However, in 2010, Sega announced that Griffith had been replaced by Roger Craig Smith (Person) as Sonic's voice actor, whose debut will be made with Sonic Colors (Game). Jason's name is often erroneously given as Jason Anthony Griffith, which is the name of a completely different actor. Jason's middle name is Adam.
