Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monster Coliseum is a turn-based strategy game developed by KCE Japan(along with Winkysoft (Company)) and published by Konami for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) in Japan on July 29, 2004, in North America on October 26, 2004, and in Europe on February 18, 2005.
Based on the manga and anime series Yu-Gi-Oh!, Capsule Monster Coliseum is the third and final video game adaptation of the in-universe board game Capsule Monster Chess, where players take turns battling monster figurines on a tiled board similar to tactical RPGs (such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem).
It is a successor to Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Capsule: Breed andamp;amp;amp; Battle and Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Capsule GB, and is the only one in the trilogy that was released overseas (although the latter was later translated in a 2025 compilation). It includes some altered rules based on the version from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters anime mini-series, such as a main "Symbol" piece and elemental attributes, and features a story involving Yugi competing in a tournament to become the King of Capsule Monsters.
