Overview

The Fidelity Chessmaster 2100 is a digital chess game developed and published by The Software Toolworks for the Apple II (Platform) and Commodore 64 (Platform) in 1988, for DOS PCs in 1989, and for the Amiga (Platform) in 1990. A sequel to the 1986 game The Chessmaster 2000 (Game), The Fidelity Chessmaster 2100 builds on the original with updated A.I. (with different styles and restrictions to choose from), an updated graphical interface (with an alternate "War Room" display that shows multiple details next to the board itself), animated game tutorials, the option for "blindfolded" chess, and a challenging Championship Play mode (in which players challenge the toughest version of the Chessmaster A.I. while enforcing tournament rules and limited options). It also includes replays of 110 matches from chess's history, with short annotations (which are expanded on in the game's Owner's Manual).
