Dog of Bay is a rhythm game developed by Tamsoft, Marvelous (Company), cavia, and Red Company and published by Marvelous (Company) for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) exclusively in Japan on December 14, 2000. Billed as the first "musical action" game for the PS2, Dog of Bay is stylized after musical theatre and features a cast of anthropomorphic dogs in the style of the 1980's musical Cats. The game's story involves abandoned dogs gathering in an unused bayside warehouse, turning it into a bar known as "Permanents" and separating themselves from the outside world. The main protagonist is the dalmatian Camus, a genius dancer who returns to the bar after leaving to the outside world, seeking to reunite with his former lover Sarah.
The game includes nine playable songs, with the Story mode separating them into four acts (with each song in the act playable in any order):
