Zinger in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest

Zingers made their first appearance in Donkey Kong Country (Game) on the SNES, where they were seen in four different color patterns: yellow, red, blue, and green, with each color representing a different flight path of the enemy. Zingers represent one of the few enemies that cannot be defeated by being jumped on, but instead must be defeated by either a thrown barrel or an

Animal Buddy. A large "queen" Zinger, Queen B., appears as a boss in the game. Zingers have identical roles in Donkey Kong Land (Game) on the Game Boy (Platform).

Donkey Kong Country 2

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, there are only two types of Zingers: the traditional yellow Zingers defeated by barrels and or Animal Buddies, and a red Zinger that is completely invincible. Several Zinger "hives" litter Crocodile Isle (Location), specifically in Krazy Kremland (Location) and Krem Quay (Location), implying that Crocodile Isle may be the place of origin of the creature. Much like its predecessor, the player must fight against a large Zinger, this time a king named King Zing, in a boss fight. Zingers appeared again with similar roles in Donkey Kong Land 2 (Game).

Other Appearances

Zinger in DK: King of Swing

Zingers were replaced by a new enemy, a mechanized bee named Buzz, in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. They returned in Donkey Kong 64 (Game) with a new variety named Mecha-Zinger, a metallic version of the traditional model. The next appearance was a cameo in Donkey Konga (Game), after which they appear as enemies once again in DK: King of Swing and DK: Jungle Climber. Before the game was cancelled, Zingers were also initially to be "ride-able" in Donkey Kong Racing.

They also appear in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast, where they appear as obstacles, and in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a sticker that gives 5 to slashing resistance.
