Richard "Rip" Hamilton is an NBA Basketball player who plays for the Detroit Pistons.

Richard Hamilton is a 6'6", 185 lb. Guard-Forward who went to college at the University of Connecticut and has played for the NBA's Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons. For UConn he won the NCAA Championship in 1999. In the 1999 NBA Draft he was the 7th pick by the Washington Wizards. In 2002 he was traded along with Hubert Davis and Bobby Simmons to the Detroit Pistons for Jerry Stackhouse, Brian Cardinal, and Ratko Varda. Hamilton currently plays with a protective mask for his face after breaking his nose three times during the 2003-04 season. He was an All-Star 3 times from 2006-2008.
