Gameplay
Haru Urara is difficult to win with on most racetracks, but there is one area she does well in competing: Dirt Tracks. She has a high grade on those tracks that most other Umamusume do not, and with the proper build, can win races. Her career mode is structured around racing on Dirt Tracks, though there is at least one goal, to run in the Arima Kinen, where Haru Urara will be forced to run on normal turf. She is expected to lose this race, but there is a small chance she can be trained to win with the right support cards, skills, and inheritance behind her.
Trivia
Like all named Umamusume in the game, Haru Urara is based off the same-named Japanese racehorse. She ran in 113 races between 1998-2004, and never won any of them. However, similar to her in-game appearance, she gained a cult following and the nickname "The Shining Star of Losers Everywhere" (負け組の星) for her willingness to continue racing regardless. Haru Urara's story was shown in a dramatic Japanese film (named after herself) in 2005, and was the subject of a short film in ESPN's "30 For 30" documentary block, titled "The Shining Star of Losers Everywhere," in 2016. The real life Haru Urara passed away on September 9, 2025.
