Goku's Wife in the Dragon Ball Series. She can be very overprotective of her children. She often worries when they go off to fight.

Chi Chi first appears in the series Dragon Ball. Chi Chi meets Goku and his friends while he is on his quest to find the Dragon Balls for the first time in the series.

Chi Chi is the daughter of the Great Ox King.

Chi-Chi is often depicted as a sometimes nagging, overprotective but fundamentally well-meaning woman, similar to the stereotypical overbearing shōnen mother. Though her power pales in comparison to most of the Z Fighters, she is still one of the strongest women in the world, and has been seen fighting well above the level of an average human on more than one occasion. She is also shown to be mentally clumsy at times, such as when she hits Krillin in the head with a door, thinking he is Gohan. Although Chi Chi often seen yelling at Goku over fighting, or Gohan over his school work, it cannot be argued that she loves Goku and her family very much. This is shown at the end of the Buu Saga when she is brought to tears just over the thought of finally getting to live as a family of four with Goku, Gohan, and Goten.

When Goku, Bulma, and Oolong are lead by the dragon radar to Fire Mountain they meet The Great Ox King. Bested in battle by Goku The Ox King sends Goku on a quest to find his daughter Chi Chi and then the Bancho Fan, that was currently in the possession of the Great Martial Arts Master, Master Roshi. The Bancho Fan supposedly had the power to put out the fire on Fire Mountain were The Ox King's castle stood atop and a Dragon Ball inside.

Goku and Chi Chi ride the Flying Nymbus at great speeds towards Master Roshi's Island only to find out when they get there that Master Roshi had used the Bancho Fan as a place mat and thrown it away after getting it dirty. Master Roshi then tells Chi Chi and Goku that he himself will go and put out the fires of Fire Mountain because The Ox King had once been a pupil of his.

Chi Chi and Goku return with Master Roshi to Fire Mountain were The Ox King and Goku's friends are eager to find out how this little old man plans on putting out the inferno. After Master Roshi puts out the fire and destroys Fire Mountain with it The Ox King rewards Goku's efforts with the Dragon Ball provided they can find it and Chi Chis hand in marriage.

Chi Chi appears several more times during the Dragon Ball Series.

Chi Chi then later appears in the Dragon Ball Z Series as Goku's wife and the mother of there son Gohan.
