Overview
Dragon Ball Z: Harukanaru Densetsu (known in Japan as Dragon Ball Z: Harukanaru Goku Densetsu, which loosely translates to "Dragon Ball Z: Legend of the Distant Goku", and in Europe as Dragon Ball Z: Goku Densetsu) is a sci-fi fantasy RPG developed by BEC and published for the Nintendo DS (Platform) in Japan (by Namco Bandai on March 21, 2007), North America (by Atari on June 5, 2007), and Europe (by Namco Bandai on August 31, 2007).
A spiritual successor to the six Famicom RPG adaptations of the Dragon Ball manga and anime series (as well as Dragon Ball Z: Chou Saiya Densetsu), Harukanaru Densetsu builds upon the RPG series's random card-based system. It takes place throughout the first two thirds of the main Dragon Ball Z (Franchise) storyline, including the invasion of the Saiyans, the journey to Namek, and the fight against the androids of Dr. Gero.
It is the first game of this RPG style to be released outside of Japan and the first to feature two-player versus multiplayer (via local Wi-Fi).
