Fire and Blogstone: The Mods Of Giantbomb

Increasingly over the past few weeks there has been a fair amount of anti-mod tension floating around the community. Endogene may have lit the spark, but there has been a steady flow of dramatic exits and ban-hammerings. The mod's, the members of the community that have been tasked with upholding some internet-diluted form of decency, now are often treated as though they are the enemy. Perhaps I am wrong and this state has existed for a long time, but only recently has it fully come to my attention.
 
I have been on giantbomb since the beginning. As far as it is possible to have friends from a website about videogames, I like to think there are people on Giantbomb who I can trust. I enjoy spending time here, and I enjoy spending time with the other members of the Giantbomb community.
 
The mods here do a great job. The site is as clean as anyone could ask for, and there is a level of communication and reasoning from the mods I am yet to find elsewhere on the internet. They have a consistent commitment to helping the rest of the community and making Giantbomb a great place to be a part of.
 
The mods are not the enemy. They work hard, and they get little in return. They are people and, whilst they may not be normal, they at least deserve some respect for the amount of work they put into the site. I'm still amazed they manage to remain so civil to everyone, especially with the numerous anti-mod themed posts that seem to be cropping up.
