I'm Makin a Game: Art Assets!

Well, for starters, I went ahead and put in some real art for the background. I'm going to have to get around to it sooner or later anyway so I might as well do it while I'm in the mood =P I sort of planned on one of the very early stages of my game taking place in the woods. So, I drew some woods. This is about the type of look I'll be going for with the final art in the game. With particle effects of course. . . you know, leaves and such -_-;; Also, the field won't be so damn plain and the woods won't look so barren. I'd also like some fog. Actually, I'd like a lot of things, but we'll see if that all happens.

While I was doing this, I ran into some hefty problems with my level editor. That took a good 3 to 4 hours to fix and now it's running better than ever. I've been putting off putting some tweaks to it since I wasn't really doing any level building but it got to a point where I had to work on it to do what I wanted to do. . . which was layer a whole lotta freaking sprites and have a properly working foreground.

In addition to that, I've added a few combat moves and will be going back to put in the proper frames of animation into the existing ones so that I can get a better idea of the flow of combat.

I don't know if it was in a previous update or not, but I tweaked the item switching so it doesn't bug out when you swap your item mid targeting. Also, the targeting for the bomb falls into place rather than just popping down which I think adds a lot. I may also have them rise up from the ground but that might be unnecessary -_-;;

Those are the big changes this time around. I'm going to try to force myself to do more art in addition to programming. I'm thinking add one combat move a day for now. . . I'll go ahead and modify that to one combat move a day, or a bunch of other art assets. Because. . . well, today I didn't add one but I did draw all those art assets =P

Lot's of things coming. I may need to figure out a better way to convert vids as well since the quality seems somewhat degraded here =\
