Sleigh Bells - "Treats"
- Why: Sleigh Bells could potentially become a game-changer in the long run, combining a mix of genres(hard rock, hip-hop, pop), and making it sound fresh and new. Plus every song sounds ridiculous and awesome the first time you'll listen to it. It's definitely the funnest album of the year.
The Dead Weather - "Sea Of Cowards"
- Why: I'm not afraid to say I'm slightly biased towards Jack White's music, but this is the first thing that I feel is on the same level as an album from the White Stripes. The Highlight from the CD isn't Jack White or lead singer Alison Mossheart, it's a combined effort from Keyboardist/guitarist Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence's distorted bass guitar that separates this CD from the rest out of this year.
LCD Soundsystem - "This Is Happening"
- Why: Let's get this straight, this is the best album of the year so far. Every track on the album(except maybe "You Wanted A Hit") is incredible. Most sail past the five minute mark, but never are longer than their welcome. This might be the last album from LCD Soundsystem, but it's their greatest in my opinion.
