Suicide Squad is a fun game surrounded by a lot of crap. It's a $70 game with a battle pass. It's rotten with cosmetic microtransactions. The story mode is more or less a tutorial for the seasonal battle pass-linked gameplay loop.
And yet, this game is a lot of fun. The action is fast and varied. it absolutely refuses to let you stand still. If you like to see numbers go up, they go up and there are a lot of numbers. When you're tired of shooting up Brainiacs troops, there's an enormous and detailed Metropolis to explore, with Riddler trophies and challenges to complete.
It's hard to resist having fun. Compared to its closest rivals, Gotham Knights and Marvel's Avengers, Suicide Squad stands out. I don't know if I'm in it for 12 more seasons, but I've really enjoyed what I got out of it so far.
ETA: I was in it for the remainder of the delivered seasons.
