Pretty Mediocre Hidden Object Game

It's probably partly my own fault for not liking this game.  Its limitations are largely of its own design, and I think it's reasonably upfront about them.  This is purely a hidden object game.  You might remember these types of games in Ranger Rick magazine when you were like six years old.  It doesn't really get any more complex when delivered via computer, so if you don't think that would entertain you, then this probably won't either.

Beyond the design issues, the most obvious flaw of the game is that it runs pretty slowly for what should be a non-resource intensive game.  When you click on an item, there's often a delay before an animation pops up, and generally the mouse feels slightly unresponsive.  Somehow this game didn't run as smoothly for me as Mass Effect 2.

The bigger issue for me is that the game is just really limited.  When I initially bought it, I was hoping there was some sort of story that would develop as you progressed through the levels, but there doesn't appear to be.  That's a shame, because the atmosphere they set up is vaguely creepy, coupled with decent ambient music that sets a mysterious mood.  But even this part can get repetitive after a while, which is more or less the biggest problem with the game in general.  Many locations are reused multiple times, such that you're looking for (admittedly different) objects in the same locations.  Doing this once is ok, doing it three or more times gets pretty dull.

Bottom line, it's a hidden object game that's not done particularly well.  If you want a diversion for 30 minutes, it can do that for you.  But it probably doesn't offer too much more than that.
