M.C. Kids is a licensed game that, surprisingly, doesn't suck. It is a mostly basic platformer, but it has enough charm of its own that it doesn't get completely forgotten by the people who played it.
The Hamburglar has stolen all the hamburgers, and it's up to you to get them back. The game starts out slow and easy, in grassy hills, and then runs through interesting (if rather standard) platforming levels, such as those with ice or fire. The game also runs through the gamut of characters unique to McDonald's franchise, which can be fun if you happen to know them. Small things (like the ability to crouch down to power up your jump) open up enough new gameplay opportunities that it's not all trodding on old ground.
The game itself is pretty well polished, which also helps it quickly shrug off the anticipation of disappointment that comes with being a licensed title. The controls are smooth, and I remember having a lot of fun with it back when I was younger. As a classic platformer, M.C. Kids holds its own, and I'd recommend it if you happen to see it cheap and have a little time to kill.
