EVO 2018 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on August 3rd to 5th.
Eight games will feature this year with no fan vote, two of which (Dragon Ball FighterZ & BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle) are new. Street Fighter V has also been upgraded to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
This year we say goodbye to The King of Fighters XIV which unfortunately only had the one year, BlazBlue: Central Fiction which is being replaced by this year's BlazBlue game, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle (which also includes Persona 4 Arena, Under Night In-Birth & RWBY characters), and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 which had a long run of six years at EVO including last year when it had been dropped only to win a place in the line-up by winning the fan vote.
Notable by its absence this year is Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite which released in September 2017, not only continuing Capcom's run of poor fighting game launches post-Street Fighter IV, but is dead in the water as far as development is concerned.
EVO 2017 had many announcements, including Geese Howard for Tekken 7, Future Trunks for Dragon Ball FighterZ, Abigail for Street Fighter V, Jedah for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and two brand new games, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle (would will feature at EVO this year) & what would later become known as Fighting EX Layer. What trailers will drop this year?
