Pretty self explanatory. I'm a huge fan of professional wrestling and the videos games based on it but they're not all great. I hope that this tier list can help introduce some of these games to new fans as well as give them a point of comparison to other games they may be familiar with.
This list is obviously based on my own personal opinion. I may take review scores into account but my biggest criteria boils down to two things. A.) How fun are the matches to play and B.) how well do they recreate the sport of pro wrestling. I used the excellent book, Wrestling with Pixels: The World Tour of Wrestling Games to help ensure I didn't forget any of the games I've played. You may see certain titles that you would not classify as wrestling games such as Hybrid Heaven or Def Jam: Fight for NY. These games were included in the book and include pro wrestling moves and/or a ring so they're included here.
The following games were not in the game selection list so their tier placing can be found here:
WWE 2K26 (B)
All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling for the PS1 aka Zen-Nippon Joshi Pro Wrestling Jou Densetsu: Yume no Taikou-sen (D+)
All Japan Pro Wrestling: Ouja no Tamashii aka AJPW King's Soul or Soul of a Champion (C+)
Final Fire Pro Wrestling for GBA (A)
