Seattle, Washington, or the Emerald City, is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest region of the US. The Seattle area is home to many tech and game industry companies, and has been the setting for several games.


Overview

Seattle, Washington and the surrounding area is home to one of the largest concentrations of video game and tech-related companies in the world. Nintendo of America and Microsoft are both headquartered just to the east of the city in Redmond, Washington. The city is located in King County and is home to the University of Washington, as well as several professional sports teams, most notably the Seahawks and the Mariners. Seattle was also home to the NBA's SuperSonics for 40 years, until the team moved to Oklahoma (Location) in 2008 and became the Oklahoma City Thunder (Concept). Landmarks of downtown Seattle include the Space Needle (Location), Pike Place Market, Puget Sound, Seattle Center, the Experience Music Project, and both CenturyLink Field (Location) and Safeco Field (each ranked among the top 10 arenas in the country). Each year, Seattle hosts the Penny Arcade Expo, the largest gaming-community convention in the world. After PAX expanded to the east coast with a second convention in PAX East, Seattle's PAX convention became known as PAX Prime. PAX began as a three-day convention, but starting in 2013, expanded to four. It is home to a stream of uninterrupted previews, reviews, concerts, tournaments, panels and pixels.
