@curiosus: Unfortunately, Alex seems like the type who "rolls with the consequences of his actions", which sucks big time because the THING related to Tali in ME3 is my favorite of its equivalents.

I know you won't - and I respect you for it - but please reload, Alex.

My favorite part was when Vinny made the "write-ups" joke and only the Gamespot alums laughed. Also, I guess they forgot they told that story since Brad thinks it's totally an in-joke.

Seriously though, guys, there's no excuse not to comment.

Happy birthday, Abby's mom!

That silly Star Wars clip with the Ada Wong hook gun is the first I'm seeing of that game. Pretty appropriate, I think.

I'm calling out the chat member who told Abby the Green Catseye was fine to sell because "the mask it goes into was already sold". First, the Green Catseye goes in the Beerstein, not the mask (though she's already missed one Catseye anyway, so the Beerstein is not optimal). Second, even if it did go in the mask, you get a second later in the game. QED

Also, while this is hopefully obviously a joke, it does feel liberating to use this otherwise useless garbage info I have clanging around in my head.

I think it's funny that Jeff and Ben were making jokes about how Master of Darkness "reminds them of some game, they just can't quite remember what" referring to Castlevania, since the first game that came to mind for me was actually the Dr. Jekyll NES game that makes no damn sense. Your walk cycle looks eerily similar and one of the first weapons you get is a cane; though the one in MoD seems to be a good deal more effective.

Also, I'm posting before getting to any Austin Powers, but hoo-boy, that game looks very "good". I think I may have had that at one point. I got a bunch of original, color and Advance Game Boy games from a garage sale when I was like, twelve and there were so many, that as a kid I'd play one til I decided it was trash and move on. The Metroids and Golden Suns of the collection stayed on, while the That's So Ravens and possibly Austin Powers got put into a closet and forgotten. God, that's probably somewhere in my room right now... Hell if I'm ever gonna find it.

@csl316: I don't hate the later parts of this game by any stretch, but I definitely think it hits its stride at the castle. But then, Krauser is awesome, and Regenerators are the scariest thing from this era of games, bar none as far as I'm concerned. Maybe remove the island, extend the other sections by a little, and then Krauser and Regens make an earlier appearance? Oh, and you'd need the laboratory sections to be in the castle as well; that's like Mikami law that it follows the village/city, to enclosed large area, to lab formula.

EDIT: I also very much appreciate the continuation of this series. I love seeing more of Jeff and Abby's oddly composed terror is fantastic to watch.

@steveurkel: Man, don't even sweat it. I am the exact same way with any game that falls anywhere in the range of "meh" to "this game is great". I'll just stop playing all of a sudden because... something else came out, or I went back to a more "junk food" game like Farcry New Dawn, or for no reason at all. EVEN THOUGH I might really like the game. I hate this feeling; I feel like Patrick may have coined it as something like "game ennui" in some old episode of Scoops and the Wolf. Or, I guess "choice paralysis" is more apt, actually. It's an awful feeling. RE2make and DMC5 were special occasions because I was 10/10 hyped for those and found exactly what I wanted from them, but Void Bastards, Outer Wilds, Observation...? Hopefully I'll finish one, at least.

Anyway, this game IS awesome and kick-ass, but I'm still in the honeymoon period. Hope it sticks.

*SIGH* Yet another awesome, kick-ass looking roguelike that I'm definitely going to buy, believe is going to be "the one" that actually keeps me invested until credits roll, but I will likely stop playing after 6 or so hours.

Man, sometimes I feel like I'm the guy who tried anchovies on pizza, decided I didn't really like them, but I kind of forget that every fourth pizza, so I still get them and then go "why do I do this? I never finish these pizzas. Why keep doing this to myself?"
I say all that and yet, there's still a not-small part of myself that is thinking right now, "this game DOES look awesome and kick-ass, can't wait to play it!"

@douglassouthwic: Yep. Tali and Garrus are my top two, personally. I've ALMOST been willing to play Male Shep (I really don't like Meer's delivery) just to romance Tali.

@rubberchicken: Not sure if it's what you're referring to, but it took me one match from Ben to start making Low Tier God jokes. "You spam shit, get the fuck out my lobby."
