I'd agree with most of those things.

They improved some of them in FF8 and FF9. Both had better mini-games and both were a bit better for navigating the environments. Character switching I'd probably disagree on though. Though that can be annoying, I feel like it's necessary to make it feel like it's really a whole party of characters. Otherwise you have situations like FF10 where you can pretty much ignore single characters for the whole game. The whole thing about RPGs that's good is that characters develop story-wise while they're developing stat-wise.

Nothing will ever beat AOE2. Does the steam re-release still have an active community?

It's worth owning for the 3 Zelda games alone! Ocarina and A Link Between Worlds are my 2 favourite Zeldas.

Doesn't really matter. Most Zelda games are largely independent. Majora's Mask technically comes after one of the timelines at the end of Ocarina but there's only a small amount shared between them.

Glad A Link Between Worlds getting a bit of love. Not enough people played that. It's insanely good.
