The whole problem with debating social issues online could be solved by the adherence to 1 simple rule: Never resort to demonizing people who you disagree with. No-one is deliberately trying to be evil, they just genuinely hold a different point of view.
I'm generally a liberal on social issues but I'm afraid to say that it's mostly liberals who ignore this rule. If anyone doesn't sign up to modern ideas of equality and progressiveness, they'll often find themselves victim to the exact same kind of bullying that we all know from right-wing policies of the past. A great example of this was the Polygon article that claimed Nintendo were homophobic for omitting (entirely innocently as far as I can tell) gay relationships from Tomodachi Life. I'd invite everyone to read that article and then ask themselves 'who is the intolerant bully here?'
I enjoy watching Cosmo. Most speedrunners aren't that interesting to follow, even if you like the game. But Cosmo's great. Another one I'd recommend is the FF9 speedrun from the AGDQ a few years back. Pewexel and Spike Vegeta I think were the runners. They did a great job commentating and making it entertaining.
