Straitjacket
OBJECT
A garment made to restrain the individual wearing it.

Overview

A straightjacket is a specialized garment designed purely to restrain the wearer.  The sleeves are designed to hold the wearer's arms in place and prevent the use of their hands.  Straightjackets also feature fastening straps meant to secure the garment on the wearer to prevent the possibility of it being slipped off in some manner.   Straightjackets are generally intended for the restraining of mentally ill individuals that pose a significant physical threat to themselves and/or to others.
