Spectacle Island is small island off of the southeast coast of Boston, Massachusetts. Able to be seen from the top of The Castle, the area is lush with forests and beachfront.

Location of Spectacle Island
Before the Great War, the island was owned by a multi-millionaire who had hoped to create a personal island paradise. The original settlers after the Great War, built a tall sonar pulse beacon in the middle of the island. The beacon is able to release a high-pitched sonic pulse that is able to repulsing or even killing Mirelurks that populate the waters nearby.
However, as of 2281, the island is populated by Raiders, suggesting that the original settlers were ill-prepared for an invasion and eventually overrun.
Settlement
Spectacle Island is able to become a settlement for the Sole Survivor. In order to do this, the switch on the circuit breaker inside of the sunken boat, which connects a power cable to the pulse beacon. Doing this will physically shake the ground, releasing a Mirelurk Queen and a Legendary Mirelurk Deep King.
After, one will have to flip the circuit breaker on the radio tower, releasing a pulse that repels the remaining mirelurks in the area and unlocking the workbench inside of the trailer at the radio tower.
