World Series Baseball
The first of Sega Sports' World Series-branded baseball titles.
Overview
World Series Baseball (henceforth, WSB) is a baseball simulator developed by ITL (Game Gear (Platform)) and Blue Sky Software (Genesis/Mega Drive) and published by Sega (Company) (Tec Toy in Brazil). The Game Gear version was initially released in Japan with Nippon Professional Baseball (Concept) teams as Pro Yakyū GG League and later in the United States to establish the WSB name. For the Genesis, the game was only released in US and Brazil.
Gameplay
WSB leans more toward a realistic simulator than a more streamlined and simple arcade-y affair. The MLB-based versions featured all 28 contemporary Major League Baseball teams, including the brand new expansion teams Colorado Rockies (Concept) and Florida Marlins.
