Video Chess, not to be confused with Atari's Video Chess (Game), is a digital chess game developed by Tom Merrow and published by Texas Instruments (Company) for both the TI-99/4 and TI-99/4A in 1981.
An adaptation of the chess board game, Video Chess includes an AI opponent with multiple difficulty levels and play styles (normal, aggressive, defensive, or losing), hotseat multiplayer, the option to set up a chess problem for the AI to solve, and the option to load/save the game to a cassette.
One of the game's unique features at the time is for allowing up to nine boards to be active at once, with each board having its own customizable AI opponent.
