BMX stunt riding meets sci-fi dystopian game show in this Xbox-exclusive extreme sports game.

Overview

Toxic Grind is a third-person BMX stunt riding game developed by Blue Shift and published by THQ (Company) for the Xbox (Platform) on October 27, 2002. With gameplay similar to the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX and Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX series, Toxic Grind features deadly hazards and a plot similar to the 1987 sci-fi film The Running Man. The game's plot takes place in the futuristic dystopia of 2097, where extreme sports are outlawed and violators are forced to appear in the deadly futuristic game show "Toxic Grind" (hosted by Dixon von Blass). Players control Jason Hayes, a professional BMX rider from 2002 who is ripped from time and forced to participate in the show. As it is one of the few extreme sports games to not feature a licensed soundtrack, it is one of the few games of that era with custom soundtrack support.
