Overview

Technic Beat is a rhythm game developed and released by Arika for arcades (using PS2-based Namco System 246 (Concept) hardware) in Japan on July 2002. An enhanced arcade revision of the PS2 game Technictix (Game), Technic Beat updates the game for arcades while adding over 30 new arrangements of classic Namco (Company) game themes. Like Technictix, players move their chosen character around a game board and activate "markers" on the board in time with the chosen song. It later received a home release for the PlayStation 2 (Platform), first in Japan by Arika on November 7, 2002, then in North America by Mastiff on November 2, 2004. This version features new modes and 10 new musical tracks (most of which are based on other Arika games). Arika later made a mobile successor to the game in 2014, called Pitapat Beat.

Tracklist

The game's tracklist features music not only the 32 tracks from Technictix, but 31 new arrrangements of classic Namco (Company) game music. In the PS2 version, the game includes an additional 10 tracks (most of which are new arrangements of other Arika game music). The soundtrack is composed and arranged by seven musicians:

Some songs have an unlockable harder variation. Only ☆1-4 are playable from 1st Period, with ☆5-6 playable in 2nd Period and ☆7-8 playable in Final Period.
