Party Quiz Mega Q
GAME » on November 5, 1993
A quiz game exclusive to the Japanese Sega Mega Drive. When it resurfaced on the Mega Drive Mini 2 in 2022 it received two new sets of modernized questions.

Overview

Party Quiz Mega Q is a quiz/trivia game for the Sega Mega Drive, developed and published by Sega themselves. It was only the second game of its type for the Japanese market (North America had already received both a Jeopardy! and a Wheel of Fortune adaptation) following the Sega MegaNet game Riddle Wired (Game). The game has a comedic TV game show theme with quirky opponent characters that typically fall under archetypes like an idol, a bodybuilder, or a punk. In addition to the standard mode that randomized the types of rounds the player saw, there was also an "Arende" mode that allows players to build their own selection (and order) of rounds. When Party Quiz Mega Q was selected to join the line-up for the Japanese version of the Mega Drive Mini 2 mini-console in 2022 it received two new variants: one of them updated the general knowledge and pop culture trivia to reflect the early 2020s rather than the early '90s back when it was first released, while the other only had questions regarding Sega software and hardware.
