Totodile
CONCEPT
Known as Waninoko in Japan, Totodile is a water Pokémon and one of the three starter Pokémon in Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Overview

Totodile is a second generation Pokemon and the water starter in Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal. Being that he is a starter, he cannot be found in the wild, only in Professor Elm's lab. His origin is that of an alligator, and he possesses some fairly strong moves at the outset, but cannot learn any significant water attacks until he evolves, or reaches a high enough level. Unfortunately, he does not evolve into Croconaw (his second evolution) until level 18 (which is the highest of the first three starters), but as a trade off, he reaches his third evolution (Feraligatr) sooner than the other two starters (at level 30). Outside of the Pokemon franchise, Totodile has appeared in various cameo spots; for instance, he can be found in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a random trophy.
