The order of Zakarum was started as an order of light but due to the Prime Evils (Concept) it has become a dark religion. There are still followers of the old ways but they have no main church. What was the Temple of Light is now the Blackened Temple home of Mephisto (Character). After Mephisto was trapped in his Soulstone (Object) he begins to manipulate the denizens. Mephisto forced the Zakarum to create the Compelling orb; it gave Mephisto control over all in the city. Soon Mephisto controlled most of the country. After the destruction of the Compelling Orb and the defeat of Mephisto country was free from his tyranny. Paladins and knights off in foreign lands stayed true to the orders original teachings and maybe one day the order will recover.
