Made by Tyrael from part of the Worldstone to entrap the Prime Evils.
In the year 1004 archangel Tyrael gathers together mortal heroes to create the Horadrim. He bestows the Soulstones upon them and tasks them with tracking down and imprisoning the Prime Evils. Little did Tyrael know Izual (his lieutenant) betrayed him and told the Prime Evils everything he knew. After you defeat Izual's twisted demon form in Plains of Despair he reviels the truth about the Soulstones and the Prime Evils plain.
