By and large, a hick is an uncultivated person living rurally. Hicks are known to shoot at livestock-abducting aliens, produce moonshine, and marry their cousins.

Overview

Hicks (also known as rednecks) are well known for wearing overalls, flannel, and/or other raggedy types of clothing as well as their grammatically incorrect speech. They often live out in the sticks or in extremely rural areas and are known to consume large amounts of alcohol that usually lead to them doing dumb stuff involving fire or pickup trucks. Hicks are an example of a stereotype of a white person, and in fiction sometimes they are represented by a fictional species as a parody of the culture. While an ethnic stereotype in themselves, hicks are very likely to be incredibly bigoted, both in real life and in fiction, and is one of the culture's defining traits. Still, like in real life, all of these traits, both positive and negative, are sometimes subverted.
