Arguably started in 2003, when Yimeng Huang (Dash Huang) and Yunjie Dai (Kros Dai) founded VeryCD, a P2P media sharing site. The current version of X.D. was spawned in 2013. In 2016, XD co-founded and currently operates TapTap, a Chinese Android games platform and social media community. The platform reportedly surpassed 25 million Monthly Active Users in 2021. Later in 2016, XD expanded out of China by publishing the game ICEY on multiple platforms. Since then, they have mostly published titles and ports for mobile platforms, such as Girls' Frontline (Game), Another Eden (Game), and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. In December 2019, XD executed an Initial Public Offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, under the stock code 2400.
