Mythic was founded in 1995, purchased by Electronic Arts (Company) on June 20, 2006, and shut down by EA on May 29, 2014. Originally known for MMORPGs like Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online, the studio transitioned into the mobile and tablet space with releases Ultima Forever and a free-to-play remake of Dungeon Keeper. Under EA, the studio also took on ownership of Ultima Online. At one point the studio was also set to bring new versions of Populous and EA's helicopter-based Strike franchise to mobile platforms.
