Gamecock Media Group was a publisher founded in January of 2007 by Mike Wilson (Person), Harry Miller (Person), and Rick Stults (Person). The company was acquired by SouthPeak Interactive in October of 2008. Gamecock was known for engaging in a series of brash publicity stunts, not all of which were well-received. Most notably, Gamecock staff barged on stage during the 2007 VGA Awards and stole the microphone as Ken Levine (Person) was about to accept the Game of the Year Award for BioShock (Game). The stunt took all of Levine's allotted speech time, and as a result he was unable to address the audience during the show.
