Condor Inc. was founded n 1996 by game veterans Max Schaefer (Person), Erich Schaefer (Person) and David Brevik (Person) . With Diablo in development, Blizzard aquired and renamed the company and Diablo (Game) was released to an amazing success. Although two games were in development by 2003, a significant amount of employees took leave to form other companies such as Flagship Studios (Company) (now defunct as well after the flop Hellgate:London) Click Entertainment (Closed down after the lack of financial success of Throne of Darkness (Game)) and Castaway Entertainment.

The sequel to Blizzard's popular action-RPG features a larger and more varied world, new playable classes, and expanded skill trees. Even moreso than its predecessor, Diablo II would provide a blueprint followed by many later RPGs and action games.
