The Utrominator is a very obscure character in TMNT history.

The Utrominator only had one appearance prior to Smash-Up - in the background of one episode of the 2003 cartoon series, "Same As It Never Was". Shredder (Character) had conquered the world in an alternate timeline, and had enslaved undead Utroms (Concept) to do his bidding. Some were placed in giant exoskeletons. In Smash-Up, the Utrominator is simply an Utrom brainwashed by Shredder.
