The Mother is a sentient broodmother from Dragon Age Origins - Awakening. She is the primary adversary of the Architect.

Overview
The Mother is a creation of the Architect, and gives birth to "The Children (Concept)", a new breed of darkspawn. She resents the Architect for his attempts to make the Darkspawn independent from the calling of the Old Gods, which she refers to as "the music". The call is what the Darkspawn typically hear and is what controls them. Now freed from it she wishes nothing but to have it back and hates the Architect for what he did to her.
