Jalen Rose is a retired NBA player who now works as a commentator.

Jalen Rose is a 6'8", 210 lb. Guard from the University of Michigan who played for the Denver Nuggets (Concept), Indiana Pacers (Concept), Chicago Bulls (Concept), Toronto Raptors (Concept), New York Knicks (Concept), and Phoenix Suns (Concept). Jalen Anthony Rose was born on January 30, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan. He would go on to play for the University of Michigan Wolverines basketball team and was dubbed a member of the "Fab Five." (The other members of the "Fab Five" were Jimmy King, Juwan Howard, Chris Webber (Character), and Ray Jackson.) In his three-year college career Rose averaged 17.5 points per game 4.7 rebounds per game, and 3.9 assists per game. During his freshman and sophomore seasons the Wolverines would finish runner-up in the National Collegiate Athletics Association Finals. There would later be an investigation that turned up evidence that certain players received payments from a school booster named Ed Martin who was laundering the money from an illegal gambling operation. After testifying before a grand jury, Rose was ruled as not having received large amounts of money. After the investigation the university had to foreit those NCAA Final appearances, as well as scholarships, certain school records, and two seasons of postseason eligibilty. Rose was drafted in the 1994 NBA Draft 13th overall by the Denver Nuggets. In his second season with Denver he averaged 10.0 points per game and 6.2 assists per game. On June 13, 1996 he was traded to the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers would go on to appear in three consecutive Eastern Conference Finals (in the 1998, 1999, and 2000 postseasons). They won the Eastern Conference Championship and lost to theLos Angeles Lakersin six games. Rose's numbers continued to improve those years, and in his last full season with the Pacers he would average 20.5 points per game and 6.0 assists per game. On February 19, 2002 he was traded by the Pacers to the Chicago Bulls. He would have his best scoring season here, averaging 22.1 points per game during the 2002-03 season. After only 16 games into the 2003-04 season, Rose was traded to the Toronto Raptors on December 1, 2003. In his only full season with Toronto he would put up 18.5 points per game. Midway through the 2005-06 season he was traded by the Raptors to the New York Knicks on February 3, 2006. His best numbers were behind him. He would be waived by the Knicks on October 30, 2006, prior to the 2006-07 season. He signed as a free agent on November 7, 2006 with the Phoenix Suns. He played one season there, finishing out his career. He currently works as an NBA analyst and commentator.
