Formerly a human General for the Rolance Empire, after creating tension between his village of Camlann before abandoning it to Hyland troops. Michael sacrificed his own nephew to Malotelus, inflicting a "curse of eternal solitude" on Heldalf before dying himself. The curse not only caused everyone Heldalf knew to abandon him, but he could not even end his own life. In despair, Heldalf decided to absorb the malevolence of everyone in the world and destroy all the humans and Seraphim to end everyone else's suffering, by ending their lives, and embraced his role as the new Lord of Calamity. His appearance and demeanor became more demon-like as he raised an army of Hellions with his malevolence, and quietly reignited a war between the great powers of the world to cause their malevolence to spread further. When the current Shepherd, Sorey (Character), finds out the truth behind Heldalf's past and its link with his and Mikleo (Character)'s own, Sorey and his companions faced Heldalf in a great battle to sever the link between Heldalf and Malotelus. After freeing Heldalf from Malotelus, Sorey impaled Heldalf with his sword, ending Heldalf's life and his curse with it.
