Arguably the strongest being in the world of Expedition 33, but he prefers goofing off and casting away his powerful rocks so that others can find them.

Esquie is a cheerful, balloon-like being in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a friend of Verso over the years. When Expedition 33 first encounters him, he tasks them with beating up his neighbor François for supposedly stealing his rock "Florrie." They grudgingly do so, only to find that he doesn't have the rock, but Esquie is entertained enough that he joins them, and he points them to the Stone Wave Cliffs, where Florrie actually is, so they can cross the sea to get closer to the Paintress. The Expedition witnesses Esquie beat up a gigantic Nevron by launching himself into it like a cannonball, and wonder why he couldn't just carry them that way the whole time.
In game, Esquie acts as a sort of mount for the party. initially, Esquie can only roam around on land. After they find "Florrie," the party can use Esquie to float over water. Finding "Dorrie" allows Esquie to break through giant coral blocking their way. Finding "Soarrie" will let Esquie fly with the party on his back.
